Combining the best of music, food and culture, Brixton’s already fertile soil is bringing you a new seedling in the form of Cross the Tracks Festival. The June time event - hopefully when the sun is at its best - will be centring female talent, with the legend Chaka Khan headlining, and being nicely offset by other female artists such as Oshun, plus the UK’s very own Nubya Garcia, Etta Bond, Eliza and many more.
There will also be the unmissable opportunity to see the dreamy saxophone serenader, Masego, live in action! Alongside acts such as Children of Zeus, Lunch Money and Miguel E (tuckshop) your day will be flooded with smooth rhythms and vibrations. This is a line up which is jam packed with effervescent artists - new and old!
What more to get you out and on your feet than the promise of sun, soulful music and a selection of delicious food all in one place?! Oh yeah… the food. The Cross the Tracks team has put together a 40 stall selection of London’s very best food providers. In a city with so much choice and quality, the anticipation is truly killing us.
Tickets are available from £25.00 meaning there really are absolutely no excuses to not get yourself there. The short version of this monologue is: it’s an absolute steal.
Think spirit-moving, live instrumentation. Think awesome vocal crooners. Think sun on your skin, the glory of being bare, light in weight without being weighed down by layers. No chilliness, misery nor wet dog smell. A nice refreshing drink for you and your pals and the sun turning into dusk as you are serenaded by some of the most talented soulful artists our time has to offer, among a myriad of other music lovers in a warm South London park.
This is the one to reach.
